CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to amend BWSR contract 22133 for stabilization of stream banks and hillslopes as a result of the June 2012 flooding from the Minnesota Recovery Task Force (MRTF) in the remaining amount of $1,397,637.52.  Funds received shall be deposited in and payable out of Disaster Recovery Fund 225, Department 125 (Finance), Division 1808 (Disaster Aid and Revenues), Source 4220-06 (State of Minnesota Board of Soil and Water Resources).  This is a one-year expiration deadline extension only, with no change in the total grant amount or in the original scope of work.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  In October 2012 the city of Duluth submitted an application to the Minnesota Recovery Task Force (MRTF) for funding to stabilize stream banks and remove debris and sediment to protect public safety, nearby infrastructure, and adjacent federal funding.  These grant timelines are set to expire while additional projects have been identified and remain in the planning phase.  This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to amend the grant contract to change the expiration date from December 31, 2017 to December 31, 2018.  There are no changes to the total dollar amount or the scope of work; additional projects within the scope of work have been identified and are in the process of completion.  Funds are payable to and from Disaster Recovery Fund 225, Department 125 (Finance), Division 1808 (Disaster Aid and Revenues), Source 4220-06 (State of Minnesota Board of Soil and Water Resources).
