RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DULUTH AND THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR UTILITIES AND CONSTRUCTION TO BE PERFORMED UPON, ALONG AND ADJACENT TO TRUNK HIGHWAY 194 (MESABA AVENUE) WITHIN THE CORPORATE CITY LIMITS UNDER STATE PROJECTS 6933-95 AND 6933-97 AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $100,396.80.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially in the form of the attached Exhibit A, between the city of Duluth and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) to provide for payment by the city to the state of the city’s share of the costs of utilities and construction to be performed upon, along and adjacent to Trunk Highway 94 (Mesaba Avenue) within the city limits under State Project Nos. 6933-95 and 6933-97 (city project no. 1520) at an estimated cost of $100,296.80.

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: MnDOT will be performing concrete pavement rehabilitation, ADA improvements, lighting and signal improvements and geometric improvements to Trunk Highway 194 (Mesaba Avenue). The city granted municipal consent for the project on October 23, 2017. This agreement provides for the city to reimburse MnDOT for its share of the signal painting, lighting and utility adjustments to be performed in 2018.
