CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend purchase order 2017-00000593 to Elliot Group to add an integral lubrication system to the turbine and gear reduction set for the steam plant, for an additional amount of $10,712, for a total amount not to exceed $110,311, payable from 540-0920-1499-5530 (steam, steam department, steam non-operating, improvements other than buildings).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amendment to purchase order 2017-00000593 to add an integral lubrication system to the turbine and gear reduction set purchased from Elliott Group for the steam plant.
Purchasing issued an Invitation for Bids for the turbine and gear reduction set on October 19, 2017, and received three bids as listed below. Elliott Group was the successful low bidder and purchase order 2017-00000593 was issued to them on November 28, 2017. The integral lubrication system is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part required to lubricate the gearbox gears and bearings. At the time the turbine and gear set were purchased, it was unknown if existing plant equipment could be used for lubrication. The new lubrication system has been determined to be necessary and will be purchased from the OEM in order to keep the equipment under warranty.
