CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a two-year agreement with Valley Youth Center to provide outside of school time youth programming in the western neighborhood, substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, with payments of $20,000 per year made from 205-130-1219-5310 (Parks, Community Resources, Parks Operating, Contract Services).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a two-year agreement for professional services with Valley Youth Center for outside of school youth programming in the city’s central western neighborhood at their location at 720 North Central Avenue. The agreement can be terminated by either party upon ninety days’ notice. Under the terms of this agreement, Valley Youth Center will facilitate programming which will provide a safe and structured environment for youth in the western Duluth neighborhood. The program will also provide youth with educational opportunities, as well as, development of health and life skills, positive adult role model interaction, and recreation activities. Funds for this agreement are made available from the parks fund.
