RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A THREE-YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT WITH ARROWHEAD YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION FOR USE OF OFFICE SPACE IN THE WHEELER FIELDHOUSE FOR ITS OPERATIONAL HEADQUARTERS.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a three-year lease agreement, substantially the same as the agreement attached as Exhibit 1, with Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association, for the use of space in the Wheeler Fieldhouse.  Monthly rent payments will be $163.91 during the first year of the agreement, with a 3% annual increase during the term.  Funds received under this agreement shall be deposited into Fund 205-130-1219-4803 (Parks Fund, Community Resources, Parks Operating, Rent Revenues).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a three-year lease agreement with Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association for use of space in the Wheeler Fieldhouse for operation of its youth soccer program and related services.  AYSA provides fun and safe soccer opportunities to youth and teenagers in the community and surrounding area through recreational and competitive programming. 

 

Since the early 2000s, AYSA has occupied certain space within the Wheeler Fieldhouse under previous lease agreements that are now expired.  AYSA desires to continue leasing office space within the Wheeler Fieldhouse to use as its operational headquarters.  

 

In consideration for the use of space, AYSA will pay the City $163.91 per month during the first 12 months of this agreement, with a 3% annual increase thereafter.  AYSA will have exclusive use of two rooms within the Wheeler Fieldhouse.  Under the terms of the agreement, City may terminate the agreement with ninety (90) days’ written notice.
