RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH ONE ROOF COMMUNITY HOUSING FOR THE TENANT LANDLORD CONNECTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the One Roof Community Housing to fund the Tenant Landlord Connection in the amount of $40,000 from the general fund as follows:
Department 700- Transfers and other functions $40,000
FUTHER RESOLVED, that the city’s funding in the amount of $40,000 is contingent upon a $40,000 match from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a $40,000 agreement for the Tenant Landlord Connection to be run by One Roof Community Housing. The city and One Roof Community Housing must enter into a funding agreement before the funds are utilized. The city’s funding in the amount of $40,000 is contingent upon a $40,000 match from the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth.
The Tenant Landlord Connection provides resources that will prevent homelessness, by providing education, mediation, sample letters, referrals, and information to both renters and landlords, and encourages the exercise of accountability and responsibility of all parties.
