CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially in the form of that attached hereto as exhibit A, with Ensyn Renewable Fuels Canada, Inc., a Canadian corporation, to supply and install equipment necessary to allow the Duluth Energy Systems facilities to utilize renewable fuel oil as an energy source for the district and to install other equipment.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of this resolution is to authorize an agreement with Ensyn Renewable Fuels Canada, Inc., to provide and install equipment which will allow the “steam plant” to utilize renewable fuel oil (“RFO”) as an energy source for the district. In addition, they will install equipment on two boilers at the plant that are presently able only to burn coal, allowing them to use natural gas if needed.
The equipment will be initially paid for by Ensyn; they will recover the cost from the on-going purchase of RFO.
This resolution is a companion to resolution no. 18-0244R pursuant to which Ensyn will supply RFO to the District.
