STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution will authorize an agreement with Barr Engineering, Inc. to provide environmental support services during the Superior Street reconstruction project.

This project as a whole involves the reconstruction of Superior Street from Seventh Avenue West to Fourth Avenue East.  During the project it is anticipated that contaminated soils will be encountered.  Under the agreement with Barr Engineering, Inc., Barr staff will assist in the evaluation and remediation plan to deal with contaminated soils encountered.  Due to the specialized nature of the required services, we request that a consultant be hired to provide environmental support services during the project.
