CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute a contract, substantially the same as the attached Exhibit A, with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), for their participation in the 2015 sexual assault kit initiative project to address the backlog of unsubmitted sexual assault kits, with expenses to be taken from Fund # 215-200-2214-5447 (Duluth Police Grant Programs, Police, SAKI Grant, Payment to Other Govt. Agencies).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the proper city officials to execute an agreement with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) to test previously unsubmitted sexual assault kits (SAKs). The funding for this contract is a 2015 grant approved by this council on 1/11/2016 and for which the City is the fiscal agent. The City applied for, and was granted, an adjustment to the grant reallocating these monies to allow testing of a portion of the SAKs.
