RESOLUTION APPROVING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DULUTH AND INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS LOCAL 101 FOR THE YEARS 2018-2020.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute

and implement a collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 101 containing substantially the same as that attached hereto as Exhibit A, covering the terms and conditions for International Association of Fire Fighters Local 101 bargaining unit members for years 2018 through 2020.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The City and International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 101 have been in negotiations for a successor agreement to their current 2015-2017 collective bargaining agreement. The parties tentatively agreed to a 2018-2020 collective bargaining agreement on March 8, 2018, and the IAFF Local 101 membership ratified this 2018-2020 collective bargaining agreement on April 4, 2018. The agreement is a three-year contract with general wage increases of 2.5% in 2018, 2.75% in 2019, and 2.5% in 2020.  Effective January 1, 2019, the City will increase its monthly Health Care Savings Plan contribution for bargaining unit members hired before January 1, 2007 by 0.25%; and, the City will increase its monthly Health Care Savings Plan contribution for bargaining unit members hired on or after January 1, 2007 by 0.5%.  The City will provide all bargaining unit members with a second set of fire protection gear, and will install “extractor” washers in all fire stations.  The City will not change an employee’s work schedule (without the employee’s permission) for the month after the monthly schedule is posted.
