CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the city of Duluth established the initial municipal state aid system of streets by a resolution approved on October 28, 1957, under provisions of Minnesota Laws 1957, Chapter 943.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that it now appears that revisions in the municipal state aid system are necessary.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that portions of the streets described as follows be and hereby are designated as Municipal State Aid Routes are Waseca Industrial Road, and Anderson Road, within the city of Duluth, subject to the approval of the commissioner of transportation of the state of Minnesota.
Waseca Industrial Road from Raleigh Street to 59th Avenue West (0.49 miles)
Anderson Road from TH 194 to TH 53 (0.92 miles)
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This section of Waseca Industrial Road is proposed for construction in 2019 as part of the TED Grant and will be built to State Aid standards. Waseca Industrial Road provides a connection between Raleigh Street and the industrial area and upon completion of road construction will eliminate truck traffic from portions of Raleigh Street and 59th Avenue West. Anderson Road is currently designated as a city street. The new designation will establish it as an extension of the existing state aid route to the west. Passage of this resolution will add both sections of roadways to the City of Duluth Truck Route System. See attached Exhibits A and B for the MSA segment changes, and Exhibit C for future configuration of MSA routes upon construction of Waseca Industrial Road. Total new MSA designations in this resolution: 1.41 miles.
