CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with JMF Construction, Inc. for the 2018 Citywide Patch and Sidewalk project in the amount of $291,490.90, payable from Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), of which $7,860 will be assessed to benefitting properties. City project no. 1685.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize the 2018 Citywide Patch and Sidewalk project by JMF Construction, Inc. in the amount of $291,490.90, payable from Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), of which $7,860 will be assessed to benefitting properties, city project no. 1685, requisition no. 18-0287. This project consists of street, driveway and sidewalk repairs necessitated by water main breaks. In addition, this project includes bid items used when residents request repair of their sidewalks, and also includes sidewalk replacement on 22nd Avenue East above Fifth Street. Other work includes widening of the radius at the intersection of Mountain Shadow Drive and Burning Tree Road to allow for easier bus turning on the new DTA route, and the installation of barriers and median in front of 2 West First Street to help prevent future accidents to the building. JMF Construction, Inc. was the lowest bidder of the four companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $353,143.
