RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE NEW CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF SENIOR PARKS PLANNER, AND SPECIFYING CONTRACT BENEFITS FOR SAME.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of senior parks planner (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on March 6, 2018, are approved; that said classification shall be subject to the city’s collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be Range 34, $5,115 to $6,014 per month. The proper city officials are authorized to execute and implement an agreement with the union to provide for employing one or more unit members consistent with this resolution.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The new classification of senior parks lanner has been created to properly encompass the duties of two personnel in the parks and recreation division who have been working within a generic project coordinator job classification that originated in public works and utilities. The new classification will also aid in the creation of a stronger promotional chain within the parks and recreation division. The pay range negotiated for the classification is Range 34, $5,115 to $6,014 per month.
