RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ARROWHEAD BOWHUNTER’S ALLIANCE INC. FOR MANAGEMENT OF THE ANNUAL DEER CONTROL HUNT AND AMENDING RESOLUTION 08-0317.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to execute and implement an agreement, substantially the same as that attached as Exhibit A, between the city and Arrowhead Bowhunter’s Alliance Inc. for conducting the annual deer control hunt in 2018, with options to renew for three additional years, at no net cost to the city.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that Resolution 08-0317 is amended by deleting paragraph (h) eliminating the “earn a buck” requirement.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This agreement provides that the Arrowhead Bowhunter’s Alliance (“ABA”) will manage the annual city deer hunt in 2018 for a cost to the city not to exceed the revenues from the registration fees. The ABA has managed the hunt since 2005. The term of the contract is one year with options to renew for three additional years. In addition, the resolution amends Resolution 08-0317 to eliminate the “earn a buck” requirement. The ABA rules and information manual setting the rules for the city hunt may still require hunters to harvest an antlerless deer before harvesting a buck with antlers during certain periods in the city’s deer hunting season.
