CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to amend contract 22895, in substantially the form attached as Exhibit A, with AMI Consulting Engineers P. A. (AMI) for professional engineering services, including design, permitting assistance, preparation of biddable construction documents and construction administration, in support of the project to repair and rehabilitate a portion of the seawall surrounding the DECC for an increase of $66,425 and a new contract total not to exceed $689,403.39, payable from 450-030-5530; CP450-SEAWLL (Capital Improvements, Finance, Improvements Other Than Buildings; Capital Projects, Other Fund Contributions, Slip and Bayfront seawall repairs).

Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an increase to the contract with AMI for professional engineering services in support of the repair and rehabilitation of a portion of the seawall surrounding the DECC.

The city entered into agreement C22895 with AMI in July of 2016. At that time the expectation was that the project would be designed and bid in the fall of 2016, with construction over the winter. Multiple delays and scope changes resulted in the project timeline being significantly extended and in the depletion of funds that were budgeted in the original agreement for construction administration and other engineering services. The additional funds will pay for services rendered by AMI including value engineering, design of timber camels, additional permitting, research & design of fender alternatives, cost estimations for phase II, coordination of bulk steel delivery, coordination in Irv...
