Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution is to finalize the 2018 ESG Program portion of the Community Development program. The city budgeted $195,000 for the FY 2018 HUD award to the ESG program in Resolution 18-0081R. The federal Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) officially notified the city of the FY 2018 ESG allocation on May 14, 2018 for the program year that runs from April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019. The award letter from HUD awarded $197,842 to the ESG program, which is an increase of $2,842 from the anticipated amount. The community development committee considered the revised award from HUD at its meetings of May 8, 2018 and May 22, 2018, and concurred with the recommended modifications. A public hearing was held at the May 22nd meeting and a 30-day comment period was held from May 12th- June 12th, 2018 on the revised recommended amounts and no additional comments were received.
