CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Carlson Duluth Co. for the installation of building energy transfer stations (ETS) for Phase 1 Scope E buildings for a total amount not to exceed $112,187; payable from fund 540-0920-1499-5530 (Steam - Steam Department - Steam Non-Operating - Improvements Other than Buildings).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes a contract with Carlson Duluth Co. for the installation and commissioning of new building ETS for the Security Jewelers building for an amount not to exceed $112,187.

 

The new building ETS are required as a means of transferring heat from the new Duluth Energy System’s hot water infrastructure loop currently being installed in Superior Street to each building’s heating system. Work includes all labor and materials required to install and connect the new Duluth Energy System supplied ETS to each of the building’s heating systems and to provide the hot water equipment necessary to convert the building from steam to hot water.

 

Purchasing issued an invitation to bid on June 22, 2018, and received three bids as listed below.  Carlson Duluth Co. submitted the lowest responsive bid.
