CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Hunt Electric Corporation to furnish and install a redundant server generator for the IT data center for a total amount not to exceed $183,842, payable from fund 450-030-5520-CP2018-1801B (Capital Improvement Projects; Finance; Buildings & Structures; 2018 Capital Projects, CIP Eligible VFA Building Improvements).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Hunt Electric Corporation to furnish and install a redundant generator for the IT data center for an amount not to exceed $183,842.
The data center houses the network infrastructure and servers used by police, fire, and the gas utility. Provision of continuous power to these IT functions is mission critical. The data center currently has one backup generator which turns on in the case of power outage. Adding an additional generator with a secondary power supply will significantly minimize the chance of a complete shutdown if the first generator were to fail.
Purchasing issued an invitation to bid on July 23, 2018 and received three bids as listed below. Hunt Electric Corporation submitted the lowest responsive bid.
