RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A THREE-YEAR NON-EXCLUSIVE USE PERMIT WITH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, BY AND THROUGH THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF MINNESOTA STATE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ON BEHALF OF LAKE SUPERIOR COLLEGE FOR USE OF THE WASHINGTON CENTER GYM.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a three-year non-exclusive use permit, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit 1, with the State of Minnesota, by and through the Board of Trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities on behalf of Lake Superior College for use of the Washington Center gym for its college interscholastic basketball program. Payments received under this agreement shall be deposited into Fund 210-030-3190-4625-07.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a three-year agreement with the State of Minnesota, by and through the Board of Trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities on behalf of Lake Superior College (“LSC”) for use of the Washington Center gym for its college interscholastic basketball program.
To avoid conflict with other user groups, the dates and times for all of LSC’s usage of Washington Center gym are scheduled through the City’s Recreational Specialist. LSC will pay the City a fee for every practice, game, and tournament at the Washington Center gym based on the then-current, council-approval fee schedule.
