RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with MSA Professional Services, Inc., substantially in the form of Exhibit A attached hereto, to provide professional engineering services for design and construction of the Riverwest Drive (a/k/a Kayak Bay Road) project in an amount not to exceed $163,424.93, payable from Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department/Agency 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings, city project no. 1403.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize an agreement with MSA Professional Services, Inc. to provide professional engineering services for design and construction engineering for the Riverwest Drive project, to include development of a public road, a trailer parking lot and loop access road to Spirit Landing with parking, and public utilities to include sanitary sewer, water and storm water.
The subject road is in the course of a name change from Kayak Bay Road to Riverwest Drive. Since the project was initiated the development has been established as Riverwest and the name of the city's park along the river has been established as Spirit Landing. As the project no longer includes anything named "Kayak Bay," it was deemed beneficial to the project and to the users to choose a name such as Riverwest Drive associated with other elements of the project.
MSA Professional Services, Inc. is being hired to provide the design and construction engineering services for the project in substitution for a company previously contracted to perform design services only.
