RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER TO ACCEPT GIFTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000 OR LESS.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the chief financial officer is hereby authorized to accept on behalf of the city monetary gifts of $10,000 or less made to the city, except when city funds are required as a match.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that such monetary gifts shall be deposited in appropriate accounts and used only in accordance with the expressed wishes of the donor.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution shall be in effect until December 31, 2023.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the chief financial officer to accept monetary gifts of $10,000 or less made to the city. It replaces Resolution 13-0109 which expired at the end of 2016. This resolution streamlines the process for accepting monetary gifts valued at $10,000 or less by eliminating the need for council approval for each individual gift. An exception to this authority exists if matching city funds are required. In such event, the gift would require city council acceptance. The authorization provided in this resolution will sunset on December 31, 2023.
