CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Ford of Hibbing for the purchase of six (6) 2019 Ford Interceptors in the amount of $180,680.52, payable from 250-015-2018-5580, CE250-V1803 (Capital Equipment, Public Administration, Fiscal Year 2018, Capital Equipment; Capital Equipment Fund 250, Police Vehicles).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of six 2019 Ford Utility Police Interceptors at a cost of $30,113.42 per unit.
A 2014-2015 Fleet study found that City vehicle maintenance costs are reduced when units of this type are traded in, repurposed, or auctioned between 5 and 8 years or 100,000 miles. This purchase will allow replacement of six marked police vehicles of various ages, all of which have incurred over 100,000 miles.
This purchase is against Minnesota State Contract 83064, Release A-174(5).
