CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the plans for state project no. 6982-328 showing proposed alignments and geometrics for the pavement, pavement marking and associated signal improvements to Garfield Avenue from Nelson Avenue to Superior Street, Railroad Street from Garfield Avenue to Fifth Avenue West, 27th Avenue West from I-35 to Superior Street, and 46th Avenue West from Grand Avenue to I-35 ramps, within the city limits as a state project have been prepared and presented to the city, and that said plans be in all things approved.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize the state project within the city to make geometric and roadway improvements on Garfield Avenue from Nelson Avenue to Superior Street, Railroad Street from Garfield Avenue to Fifth Avenue West, 27th Avenue West from I-35 to Superior Street, and 46th Avenue West from Grand Avenue to I-35 ramps. Final layouts are on file with the Minnesota Department of Transportation Duluth office, identified as S.P. 6982-328 Final Layout. Copies of the layouts are attached. This work, scheduled for construction in 2019, is being done as part of the Twin Ports Interchange project, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2020. This project will be funded 100% by MnDOT except for $247,000 in federal funds for the Garfield Avenue portion.
