RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE NEW CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF CODE COMPLIANCE OFFICER, AND SPECIFYING CONTRACT BENEFITS FOR SAME.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of code compliance officer (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on January 8, 2019, are approved; that said classification shall be subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its supervisory unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be Range 1050-1070, $5,186 to $6,660 per month.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The new classification of code compliance officer has been created to be primarily responsible for education and enforcement related to City Ordinance No. 10571, which established minimum standards for earned sick and safe time in the city of Duluth. This position will also provide compliance enforcement for other codes within the scope of the city clerk's office. The pay range negotiated for the classification is Range 1050-1070, $5,186 to $6,660 per month.
