CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of deputy director, planning and economic development (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on January 8, 2019, are approved; that said classification shall be subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its supervisory unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be Range 1130-1150, $7,144 to $10,141 per month.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The new classification of deputy director, planning and economic development has been created following the merge of the business and economic development department and the planning and construction services department. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the planning and economic development services and will assist the director in specific phases of moderately difficult planning environmental review, community and economic development projects or may be in charge of a major phase of a more complex study.  The pay range negotiated for the classification is Range 1130-1150, pay rate of $7,144 to $10,141 per month.
