RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE PARK POINT COMMUNITY CLUB FOR THE USE AND MAINTENANCE OF LAFAYETTE SQUARE.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a three-year agreement, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit 1, with the Park Point Community Club for the use and maintenance of Lafayette Square.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the city to enter into a three-year agreement with the Park Point Community Club (“Community Club”) for the use and maintenance of Lafayette Square. Under the terms of the agreement, the Community Club will have the non-exclusive right to use the lower level of the building at no charge to host monthly meetings and annual events for residents of Park Point and provide a summer youth program. Additionally, the Community Club, or its assigns, may use the upper level of the building for the same purposes, at no charge, up to 32 hours per month. The Community Club may also use the community garden within the outdoor space for the growing and sharing of food through urban gardens.
As consideration for the Community Club’s use of the building, it shall provide janitorial services to the building, except for the bathrooms accessed from the exterior, on an occasional basis, as well as provide gardening and landscaping duties that are otherwise not provided by the City.
The City shall be responsible for the management of all rentals of the building, as well as the utilities and janitorial and maintenance duties of the building and grounds. The public may reserve use of the upper level of the building through the City’s online reservation system.
