CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with M & T Fire and Safety Inc., for the purchase of seventy-one (71) sets of structural firefighting turnout gear in the amount of $170,258, payable from the following funds:
$66,998.72 250-015-2018-5580; CE250-E1815 (Capital Equipment, Public Administration, Fiscal Year 2018 Capital Equipment; Capital Equipment Fund 250 Turnout Gear (PPE), Hose, Helmet, SCBA - Fire).
$103,259.28 250-015-2019-5580; CE250-E1915 (Capital Equipment, Public Administration, Fiscal Year 2019 Capital Equipment; Capital Equipment Fund 250 Turnout Gear (PPE), Hose, Helmet, SCBA - Fire)
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of seventy-one (71) sets of structural firefighting turnout gear, consisting of a jacket and pants, for the Duluth Fire Department.
Purchasing issued an invitation to bid on May 2, 2018 for a three year purchase agreement for turnout gear for the Fire Department, with prices to be held firm for the first year. M & T Fire and Safety Inc. submitted the lowest bid meeting the specifications developed by the firefighting gear turnout committee at a bid price of $2,398 per set. This will be the second purchase resulting from that bid.
