CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Northern Bedrock Historic Preservation Corps, EXHIBIT A, for services to restore historic rock walls at Harrison Park and, resources permitting, Lincoln Park under the guidance of Mike Braun of Mike Braun Construction in the amount of $11,000.

FURTHER RESOLVED, that all payments under this agreement will be paid from 452-030-5530-HANDHTAX-1527-05 (Tourism and Recreational Projects, Finance, Improvement Other Than Buildings, Half and Half Tax Projects, Neighborhood Parks-Harrison Park).

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the City of Duluth to enter into an agreement with Northern Bedrock Preservation Corps, a Duluth-based nonprofit organization that engages established construction tradespeople to train aspiring tradespeople in the historic preservation trades and oversee their work to preserve, repair and restore aging historic structures. Under this agreement, Northern Bedrock Conservation Corps trainees will restore historic rock walls at Harrison Park and, resources permitting, Lincoln Park. Training and oversight will be provided by Mike Braun of Mike Braun Construction.

The proposed agreement will be in effect from May 15, 2019 to June 19, 2019 (or until all obligations have been satisfactorily fulfilled, whichever comes first).
