RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM THE VOYAGEUR INN, LLC, FOR CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN DOWNTOWN DULUTH.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept the conveyance of real property legally described on the quit claim deed attached as Exhibit A from Voyageur Inn, LLC, a limited liability company under the laws of the State of Minnesota, at no cost to the city. 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are also hereby authorized to disburse funds to pay for the deed tax and recording fees associated with the recordation of the quit claim deed, payable from Fund 110-700-1420-5441 (General Fund-Transfers and Other Functions-Capital Program-Other Services and Charges).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The purpose of this resolution is to accept the conveyance of certain real property from the Voyageur Inn, LLC.  The conveyance of this real property is one part of a deed exchange between Voyageur Inn, LLC and the city to fix title issues relating to ownership of certain portions of the parking ramp behind the Sheraton Hotel. 

 

In order to record the quit claim deed with the County Recorder, the city needs to formally accept the property through a resolution.  The acceptance of the real property and subsequent recording of this resolution and the quit claim deed will effectuate the conveyance of property from the Voyageur Inn, LLC to the City of Duluth.
