Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes application for a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Regional Trail Program grant for up to $250,000 for restoration of the multi-use trail bridges that cross Kingsbury and Knowlton Creek. The 2012 flood severely damaged both bridges making them unusable. Restoration of the bridges will provide safe passage on the multi-use trail that serves the Duluth Traverse Trail, Fairmount Snowmobile Trail and Superior Hiking Trail.
