CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an amendment with Minnesota Land Trust for additional professional services to support the planning of the St. Louis River Natural Area Plan, as outlined in Exhibit A, for an increase of $19,311 and a new total amount not to exceed $199,311, payable from Fund 205-130-1220-CM205-SLRNA-Phase I (Parks Fund, Community Resources, Parks Capital, Capital Maintenance Fund 205, St. Louis River Natural Area, Lake Superior Action and Management Plan).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an amendment to extend the period of the agreement with Minnesota Land Trust for a period of nine months, until December 31, 2019, modifying the work plan to include the Hartley Natural Area management plan, and increasing the amount payable under the agreement by $19,311 to cover the additional work.
In 2017, the city received a grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency in the amount of $220,000 to undertake the planning process for the St. Louis River Natural Area. The city entered into an agreement with Minnesota Land Trust for professional services related to the identification and assessment of properties for potential inclusion in the St. Louis River Natural Area and development of a St. Louis River Natural Area nomination package and management plan.
