Title

RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT TO PARSONS ELECTRIC, LLC FOR THE LIFT STATIONS 9 & 26 IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $329,662.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Parsons Electric, LLC for the Lift Stations 9 & 26 Improvements project in the amount of $329,662, payable from Sanitary Sewer Utility Fund 530, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities, Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Capital Improvements - Revenue), city project no. 1665.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution will authorize award of a contract to Parsons Electric, LLC in the amount of $329,662.  Parsons Electric was the only bidder to respond in the amount of $577,936.  The project originally included a third lift station, no. 17, and had an engineer’s estimate for all three stations of $450,000.  Because the only bid received was substantially higher than the engineer’s estimate, the contractor agreed to a reduction in the scope of work by eliminating the lift station 17 work from the award and the contract.  Bid prices for the two stations being awarded are as follows:

                     Lift Station No. 9                                                               $162,261.00

                     Lift Station No. 26                                                               $167,401.00

                                                                                                                              $329,662.00

Improvements to lift station 17 will be re-bid in the future.  Payable from Sanitary Sewer Utility Fund 530, Department/Agency 500 (Public Works & Utilities, Division 1905 (Capital Improvements), Object 5533 (Capital Improvements - Revenue), city project no. 1665, requisition no. 19-99241.
