CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with JMF Construction, Inc. for the 2019 Citywide Patch and Sidewalk project in the amount of $378,061.59, payable from Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), of which $10,675 will be assessed to benefitting properties, city project no. 1782.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize the 2019 Citywide Patch and Sidewalk project by JMF Construction, Inc. in the amount of $378,061.59, payable from Permanent Improvement Fund 411, Department 035 (Capital Projects Accounts), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), of which $10,675 will be assessed to benefitting properties, city project no. 1782, requisition no. 19-99324. This project consists of street, driveway and sidewalk repairs necessitated by water main breaks. In addition, this project includes bid items used when residents request repair of their sidewalks, and includes sidewalk replacement on three blocks of East Ninth Street and on the north side of 27th Avenue West between Helm Street and Michigan Street. Other work includes stairway and handrail improvements and the installation of barriers and median in front of 2 West First Street to help prevent future accidents to the building. JMF Construction, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder of the four companies that responded. The engineer’s estimate was $384,200.
