Title

RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF POLICE RECORDS TECHNICIAN II.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of police records technician II (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on May 7, 2019, are approved.  This classification shall remain subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall remain Range 128, pay rate of $3,697 to $4,334 per month.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The existing classification of police records technician II was revised to reduce the typing minimum requirement from 50 wpm to 40 wpm to more accurately represent the police department's current expectations and the work environment. In addition, removing the typing speed requirement would allow for a wider applicant pool. There is no change in the pay range, which is Range 128, pay rate of $3,697 to $4,334 per month.
