RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF SENIOR PLANNER.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of senior planner (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on May 7, 2019, are approved.  This classification shall remain subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall change to Range 138, pay rate of $5,540 to $6,572 per month, from Range 136, pay rate of $5,102 to $6,018 per month.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The existing classification of senior planner has been revised to include standard template language and better align with the recent reorganization combining the business & economic development and planning & construction services departments to form one department now called planning & economic development.  The pay range negotiated for this classification is Range 138, pay rate of $5,540 to $6,572 per month.  This is a change from Range 136, pay rate of $5,102 to $6,018 per month.
