RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE NEW CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF SENIOR HOUSING DEVELOPER, AND SPECIFYING CONTRACT BENEFITS FOR SAME.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of senior housing developer (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on May 7, 2019, are approved. This classification shall be subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be Range 138, pay rate of $5,540 to $6,572 per month.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The new classification of senior housing developer has been created to establish a stronger role for housing development in the new department of planning & economic development. The position will be partially funded by the Duluth housing and redevelopment authority (HRA), and though the position will be a city of Duluth employee, the senior housing developer will assist, closely collaborate, and coordinate activities of the division with the Duluth HRA. The pay range negotiated for the classification is Range 138, pay rate of $5,540 to $6,572 per month.
