RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH ST. LOUIS COUNTY TO REMOVE EXISTING EMERGENCY VEHICLE PREEMPTION (EVP) SYSTEMS AND INSTALL NEW EVP SYSTEMS ON TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL SYSTEMS IN THE CITY OF DULUTH.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with St. Louis County, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A, to remove existing emergency vehicle preemption (EVP) systems and install new EVP systems on traffic control signal systems in the city of Duluth. The costs for this project are covered by federal funding. If contract changes arise during construction, the city of Duluth’s cost share will be paid from the Public Utility Street Lighting Fund 550, Department 500 (Public Works and Utilities), Object 5533 (Capital Improvements - Revenue), city project no. 1732.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the city of Duluth to enter into an agreement with St. Louis County to remove existing emergency vehicle preemption (EVP) systems and install new EVP systems on traffic control signal systems in the city of Duluth. St. Louis County will prepare the plan, specifications, and perform all necessary contract administration. The costs for this project are covered by federal funding. If contract changes arise during construction due to unforeseen circumstances, the City of Duluth would pay for its respective percentage of the additional work based on traffic signal leg ownership, to be paid from the Public Utility Street Lighting Fund 550, Department 500 (Public Works and Utilities), Object 5533 (Capital Improvements - Revenue), city project no. 1732.
