Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution finalizes the 2019 ESG Program portion of the Community Development program. The city budgeted $187,950 for the FY 2019 HUD award to the ESG program in Resolution 18-0065R. The federal Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) officially notified the city of the FY 2018 ESG allocation on April 22, 2019 for the program year that runs from April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2020. The award letter from HUD awarded $200,644 to the ESG program, which is an increase of $12,694 from the anticipated amount. The community development committee considered the revised award from HUD at its meeting on May 28, 2019 and finalized their recommendation. A public hearing was held at the May 28th meeting and a 30-day comment period was held from May 12th- June 10th, 2019 on the revised recommended amounts.
