CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Kraus Anderson Construction Company, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, for professional construction management services in the amount of $394,675.00, payable from 452-030-5530; HANDHTAX-1502 (Tourism & Recreational Projects, Finance, Improvements Other than Buildings; Half & Half Tax Projects - Zoo Restoration).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Kraus Anderson Construction Company (“KA”) in an amount not to exceed $394,675, for construction management services for the Lake Superior Zoo Polar Shores/Bear Country project. In the role of Construction Manager as Adviser, KA will assist the city and the architects in value engineering the project in order to maintain budget, developing bid packages, coordinating work among the various prime and sub-contractors, and providing project management and construction oversight services.
The city issued an RFP for Construction Management services and received two proposals. The proposals were scored against a set of established criteria by an evaluation team composed of City and zoo staff, and the proposal submitted by KA has been selected for award.
