CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to contract with Motorola Solutions for the purchase of 109 portable radios for Public Safety for an amount not to exceed $422,961.40, payable as follows:
$294,721.75 250-015-2018-5580, ce250-e1803 (capital equipment, public administration, fiscal year 2018, capital equipment; ARMER radio replacement)
$128,239.65 250-015-2019-5580, ce250-e1903 (capital equipment, public administration, fiscal year 2018, capital equipment; ARMER radio replacement).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the purchase of 109 portable radios for use by Public Safety staff.
As part of a multi-year replacement plan, these units will replace radios for the Police and Fire Departments that are no longer supported or able to be repaired upon failure. This purchase includes essential accessories such as speaker/microphones, encryption, batteries, programming software, and wi-fi connectivity.
This purchase is against Minnesota State Contract 119587, Release R-651(5) with added discounts. Motorola Solutions is the only source compatible with the Minnesota State ARMER radio network.
