CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to contract with Four Star Construction, Inc. for the construction of new bathrooms at the main library for a total amount not to exceed $220,552.00, payable from fund no. 450-030-5520-CP2019-1909B (Capital Improvements; Finance; Buildings and Structures; 2019 Capital Improvement Projects; Main Library - Bathrooms).
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes a contract with Four Star Construction, Inc. for the construction of new bathrooms at the main library for an amount not to exceed $220,552.00. $88,200 of the project cost will be paid with a Minnesota Department of Education Library Construction Grant.
Contractor will construct two ADA accessible gender-specific restrooms and one gender-neutral family assist restroom on the first floor of the main library, in the space previously occupied by a computer lab. The library does not have adequate bathrooms to meet the needs of their clientele. New bathrooms will be accessible, easy to find, and easily monitored by staff. The computer lab has been moved to a new location on the second floor.
Purchasing issued an Invitation to Bid on July 9, 2019 and received three bids as listed below. Four Star Construction, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid.
