CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of fire systems plans examiner (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on September 3, 2019, are approved.  This classification shall be subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be Range 30, pay rate of $4,454 to $5,268 per month.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The new classification of fire systems plans examiner has been created to review commercial and residential sprinkler/fire alarm plans and specification for compliance with fire codes, ordinances, statutes, and regulations while collaborating with city staff, builders, architects, engineers, and others related to fire suppression and alarm systems.  The pay range negotiated for the classification is Range 30, pay rate of $4,454 to $5,268 per month.
