CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute an agreement, substantially in the form of the attached Attachment 1, between the city of Duluth and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) to provide for payment by the city to the state for the city’s 20% share of the costs of a required Phase I and optional Phase II archaeological survey for the Brighton Beach Trail Extension project within the corporate city limits under state project no. 118-090-024. Total project cost will not exceed $40,782 and the city’s contribution is limited to $8,156.40. The city’s costs for this project are payable from Capital Improvement Fund 450, Department/Agency 030 (Finance), Object 5530 (Improvements Other than Buildings), city project no. 1544.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes an agreement with MnDOT to pay the city’s share of the costs for a Phase I and optional Phase II archaeological survey. Due to federal funding for the Brighton Beach Trail Extension project, we require a cultural resource review. This agreement provides for payment of the city’s remaining cost share.
