CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a $250,000 Regional Trail Program grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR) to restore the multi-use trail bridges that cross Kingsbury and Knowlton Creek, said funds to be deposited into 452-030-5530-HANDHTAX-1519 (Tourism & Recreational Projects, Finance, Improvements Other Than Buildings, Half and Half Tax Projects, Snowmobile Trails.

FURTHER RESOLVED, the city will provide $83,250 in match dollars through account 452-030-5530-HANDHTAX-1519 (Tourism & Recreational Projects, Finance, Improvements Other Than Buildings, Half and Half Tax Projects, Snowmobile Trails.

FURTHER RESOLVED, the proper city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially similar to that attached hereto as exhibit A, with the State of Minnesota for the above referenced project and will comply with all applicable laws, environmental requirements and regulations as stated in the grant agreement.

FURTHE RRESOLVED, the city council of the city of Duluth names the fiscal agent for this project as Wayne Parson, Chief Financial Officer, City of Duluth, 411 West First Street, Duluth, MN 55802.

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city of Duluth hereby assures the restored bridges will be maintained for a period of no less than 20 years as required by the Regional Trail Grant Program.


Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes acceptance of a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Regional Trail Program grant in the amount of $250,000 for restoration of two multi use trail crossing bridges. The city intends to match the grant with $83,250 from fund 452-030-5530-HANDHTAX-1519.
