RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION OF A MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES GRANT OF $5,000 FOR WINTER RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT FOR GROWING PROGRAMMING INITIATIVE.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHEREAS, the grant award will be used to purchase winter recreational equipment that will allow the parks and recreation division to expand program offerings across the city such as kick sleds and snowshoes.
WHEREAS, the proper city officials are hereby authorized to apply for a grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, No Child Left Inside program, in the amount of $5,000 for program equipment purchases. If awarded and accepted, funds to be deposited to 205-130-1219-4270 (Parks Fund, Community Resources, Parks Operating, Other Grants).
WHEREAS, the city has authorization to submit the grant application substantially in the form of Exhibit A.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the application for a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, No Child Left Inside program, for the purchase of outdoor winter recreational equipment. The parks and recreation division will use the additional equipment to expand program offerings across the city. These experiences will be offered to community youth at no cost.
