RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE NEW CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF WATER PLANT MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR, AND SPECIFYING CONTRACT BENEFITS FOR SAME.

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed specifications for the new civil service classification of water plant maintenance coordinator (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on October 1, 2019, are approved.  This classification shall be subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall be Range 32, pay rate of $4,834 to $5,697 per month.

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The new classification of water plant maintenance coordinator has been created to fill an ongoing need of having an on-site maintenance person that can attend to the day-to-day maintenance of the water plant and its pumping stations, as well as coordinate their maintenance projects.  The addition of this position will decrease other water plant staff demands specific to the maintenance of systems, allowing them to focus on their primary work demands.  The pay range negotiated for the classification is Range 32, pay rate of $4,834 to $5,697 per month.
