CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are authorized to enter into an agreement, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, with Gausman & Moore Associates, Inc. for professional engineering services related to the steam to hot water conversion of fifteen buildings along Superior Street for a total amount not to exceed $130,000, payable from fund 540-920-1499-5530 (Steam; Steam Department; Steam Non-Operating; Improvements Other than Buildings).

 

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  This resolution authorizes an agreement with Gausman & Moore Associates, Inc. for professional engineering and design services for a total amount not to exceed $130,000.  Gausman & Moore will prepare drawings, specifications and construction estimates to convert the building mechanical systems for 15 buildings located along Superior Street from steam to hot water. The district energy system conversion project will take place in conjunction with phase 3 of the reconstruction of Superior Street.

 

This conversion from a steam system to a hot water system will result in a more efficient and functionally sustainable district energy system.

 

Purchasing issued a Request for Proposals on September 30, 2019 and received three responses.  After a thorough evaluation, the proposal submitted by Gausman & Moore received the highest score and is recommended for award.  The names of the responding firms and their scores are listed below.
