RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES GRANT OF $5,000 FOR WINTER RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT FOR GROWING PROGRAMMING INITIATIVE.

CITY PROPOSAL:
WHERE AS, the grant award will be used to purchase winter recreational equipment that will allow the parks and recreation division to expand program offerings across the city such as kick sleds and showshoes.
WHERE AS, the proper city officials are hereby authorized to accept a grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources - No Child Left Behind grant in the amount of $5,000 for winter equipment purchases. Funds to be deposited to 205-130-1219-4270 (Parks Fund, Community Resources, Parks Operating, Other Grants).
WHERE AS, the city has authorization to accept the grant award substantially in the form of Exhibit A.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution authorizes the acceptance of a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, No Child Left Inside program, for the purchase of outdoor winter recreational equipment. The parks and recreation division will use the additional equipment to expand program offerings across the city. These experiences will be offered to community youth at no cost.
