RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION OF HOUSING INSPECTOR.

Body

CITY PROPOSAL:

RESOLVED, that the proposed amendments to the specifications for the existing civil service classification of housing inspector (attached as Exhibit A), which were approved by the civil service board on November 5, 2019, are approved.  This classification shall remain subject to the city's collective bargaining agreement with its basic unit employees; and that pay range for said classification shall remain Range 29, pay rate of $4,285 to $5,033 per month.

Statement of Purpose

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The existing classification of housing inspector was revised to reduce the minimum requirement from two (2) to one (1) year of field experience inspecting structures and dwellings and to better align the education and experience requirements between the housing inspector and housing inspector leadworker positions.  There is no change in the pay range, which is Range 29, pay rate of $4,285 to $5,033 per month.
