RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FINAL LAYOUT FOR A STATE PROJECT WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATE LIMITS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO I-35, HIGHWAY 53 AND I-535.

CITY PROPOSAL:
RESOLVED, that the final layout for state project nos. 6982-322, 6915-136 and 6980-60, showing proposed alignments and geometrics for improvement of the structural and geometric deficiencies of I-35, Highway 53 and I-535, have been prepared and presented to the city, and that said final layout be in all things approved.
Statement of Purpose
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: This resolution will authorize the state projects within the city to make improvements to the structural and geometric deficiencies of I-35, Highway 53 and I-535. See the attached letter. Final layouts are on file with the Minnesota Department of Transportation Duluth office and the city engineer’s office, and are identified as Layout No. 2, S.P. 6982-322, No. 1A, S.P. 6915-136, and No. 1A, S.P. 6980-60, known as the Twin Ports Interchange project. This project is scheduled to begin construction in 2020. The city’s approval is required for this project because it requires acquisition of permanent rights of way. A list of the permanent property acquisitions and the project layouts are attached.
